GitHub was a source of joy for me since day one: a platform to connect with other nerds, discover new cool projects, read code and learn, which made me better… This was great.

But over time, the platform, and the internet, has deeply changed.

I don’t follow the current AI trend (and I don’t share the enthusiasm for AI agents), and I no longer learn anything new on this platform. Except that GitHub is now poorly managed and maintained by developers who don’t seem to care…

I’ve been gradually deprecating my GitHub account over the past few months.
And as of today, it’s been a month since I last touched, contributed to, or pushed anything to the platform.
I decided to write software for me, on my own place, on my own terms, and to expose it if I really think this can benefit for anyone else.

Before the AI shift, my default was to make everything public, and on GitHub.
But as the internet has become more agent-driven, I’ve switched to keeping things private and local by default.
This won’t have any impact on the internet at all. However, this will have a positive impact on the way I work, and on how I manage my time for my hobbies such as programming or making games.

I will keep the account open to publish or respond to issues, or to submit pull requests. Otherwise, I won’t publish new projects or updates there.
